We’re excited to announce our next Eat&Meet lunch on April 15 in Brussels! Our host and speaker for this session will be Pierre Wunsch, the Governor of the National Bank of Belgium and Fulbright alumnus.
(Guillaume) Pierre Wunsch is the 23rd Governor in the history of Belgium’s central bank and holds a Ph.D. in Economics (UCL) and completed a Master’s degree in Public and International Affairs at Princeton University on a Fulbright grant in 1990-1991. In January 2019, Pierre Wunsch took over the leading role of Governor of the National Bank of Belgium from Jan Smets who now holds the title of Honorary Governor and left the National Bank after a career spanning 45 years.
Mr. Wunsch is also member of the ECB’s Governing and General Council, member of the European Systemic Risk Board, member of the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements, IMF Governor, Chairman of the Resolution College, member of the High Council for Finance, member of the Board of Directors of the National Accounts Institute. He is also member of the Management Committee of Boost (King Baudouin Foundation). He also served as Director of the Strategic Finance Cell at the Ministry of Finance during the financial crisis of 2008.
These thematic lunches give Fulbright alumni the opportunity to meet with leaders working in different professional areas and hear their experiences.
