In a historic building in the heart of Brussels’ Grand Place, alumni of the Fulbright Program and young professionals from AmCham came together for the first Fulbright Eat & Meet of 2019 to talk about the shared challenges faced by young professionals on both sides of the Atlantic with Fulbright alumna Anneleen Straetemans.

Ms. Straetemans, the Global Legal Director at AB InBev, agreed to host a Fulbright Eat & Meet after having been interviewed by historian Dr. Jane Judge, a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven, as part of the Seventy Years of Fulbright alumni anniversary project. As part of this project, Dr. Judge has interviewed dozens of alumni, recording their stories and cataloging their memorabilia to understand and document their stories in more detail.

The event was co-organized by the Fulbright Commission in Brussels and the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium as part of their Young Professional @ Noon luncheon series. The lunch was attended by a diverse mixture of Fulbright alumni, current U.S. Fulbrighters to Belgium, and members of the AmCham Young Professionals network.
